So ever since his first release, “Let The Sunshine”, I’ve been excited about Labrinth the artist rather than just Labrinth, the genius producer, and 2012 has just proved I was right to hold those expectations. “Earthquake” was a huge tune, but this follow up was even better. Sampling Charles Wright & the Watts 103 Street Rhythm Band’s 1971 song (which also provided the sample to NWA’s classic 1989 tune), he shows off his aforementioned production skills and casually strolls through the vocals. Not the last we’ll be seeing of Lab on this chart by the way.
