Colm G’s top 40 singles chart of 2012 (12)

AVICII – SILHOUETTES

May 2012

Weeks on chart: 20

Peak position:  22

Pure TUUUUUUUUNAGE!!!  It’s just as well that Swedish House Mafia are retiring because the heir to their crown is here to stay in Avicii.  After already having hits with “Seek Bromance” & “Levels”, the 23 year old came third in DJ magazine’s top 100 of 2012 and then had this relatively less successful single out in May.  It mixes house synths with one of THE vocal performances of the year, coming from another Swede, Salem Al Fakir.  A proper fusion of modern house but with a real old skool 90’s vibe.  Love it!
