Second entry for Plan B in what has been another stand-out year for the multi-talented artist. After the success of “Strickland Banks”, it would have been easy for Ben Drew to fall into the comfort zone of producing another soul record, but he ripped up the formula and wrote and produced not only a critically-acclaimed film, but also a top class album by the same name. Writing in The Independent, Tim Walker called this title track “an all-time great protest song” & one MP compared it to Marvin Gaye’s classic, “What’s Going On”. This guy will be around for the long-term.
